HeimdallHR is built by an independent UK team. We’ve been on both sides of bad HR software, and we thought growing businesses deserved better than spreadsheets or enterprise bloat.
We’ve requested leave through email chains that went nowhere. We’ve managed teams out of spreadsheets with formulas nobody dared touch. We’ve chased approvals, hunted for the latest version of a policy document, and watched compliance dates slip past because they lived in someone’s head.
The tools on offer never fit. At one end, spreadsheets held together with goodwill. At the other, enterprise HR suites that cost a fortune and turn everything into a project. Nothing in the middle felt like it was built for how growing UK businesses actually work.
So we built it. HeimdallHR starts with the essentials every team needs, adds only the modules you choose, and prices the whole thing per employee. A 20-person company pays like a 20-person company, and a 300-person company gets the depth it needs without the enterprise theatre.
We’re a team of software engineers and product people based in the UK, with decades of combined experience building software for businesses. Much of that time was spent on large production systems, the kind companies depend on every day, and it shows in how HeimdallHR is engineered: role-based access, audit trails, and encryption in transit and at rest come as standard. We’ve also managed teams and done the HR admin ourselves, so we know the difference between a feature that looks good in a screenshot and one that actually saves your Thursday afternoon.
One thing you won’t find here is headshots and founder bios. We’d rather be judged on the product. Every major feature has an interactive walkthrough on this site, the full price list is published, and when you message us a real person replies within one business day.
No bundles and no forced tiers. Core plus the modules you switch on, with the full price list published on the website.
Right to Work, DBS, Working Time Regulations, Bradford Factor and ACAS-aligned processes are built in from the start, not bolted on for a regional release.
Employee data is sensitive. Role-based access, audit trails, UK/EEA hosting and encryption in transit and at rest. Even our marketing site runs without cookies.
Every feature earns its place by taking work away from someone: employee, manager or HR. If it adds process, it doesn't ship.
A fair question to ask any software vendor: will you still be here in three years?
HeimdallHR is independent and self-funded. We answer to our customers, not to investors. That means no venture clock forcing growth at all costs, no pressure to get acquired, and no incentive to squeeze customers with surprise price rises. The business is built to sustain itself, and we back that with commitments rather than promises:
See a personalised demo built around the modules you care about, or send us a message and a real person will reply.
No commitment — we’ll get back to you within one business day.
